The online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Ph.D. Programme of Nagaon University for the Academic Session 2026-27.

Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned subject.
- The minimum requirements for reserved categories shall be as per UGC Regulations, 2022 and Government of Assam norms.
Selection Process
- All eligible applicants shall be required to appear for the Nagaon University Research Eligibility Test (NURET) 2026-27 to qualify for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
- The shortlisted candidates based on the NURET result will be required to appear for a personal interview for final selection.
- Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/ UGC-CSIR NET/ GATE shall be exempted from the NURET and will be directly eligible for the personal interview after submission of the online application form.
Examination Rules:
- Candidates must bring their Hall Tickets to the Examination Hall. The Hall Ticket shall be issued by Academic Registrar (i/c), Nagaon University which will be notified in the University Website. While collecting the Hall Ticket, the applicant must bring two recent passport size photographs.
- Candidates should report to the Examination Centre at least one hour before commencement of the test.
- Any form of malpractice/misconduct will result in immediate disqualification.
- Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators etc. are strictly prohibited in the Examination Hall, unless otherwise specified.
- Candidates are advised to bring their own stationery items such as pens, pencils, erasers, etc. No extra items will be provided by the University.
Scheme of Examination
The NURET shall be 100 marks, spreading in two parts, Part-I & Part-II. (UGC Regulations, 2022). There will be No Negative Marking
Part-1:

- Time: 1.5 hour
- Syllabus: Research Methodology
Part-II:
- Total marks: 50
- Total number of questions: 50
- Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

- Syllabus: Subject-specific syllabus of UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET
Application Procedure
- The online Admission Portal shall be opened from 3rd November, 2025.
- Candidates can log in to https://online.nagaonuniversity.ac.in/admission/ and fill-up the form.
