IIT Guwahati Summer Internship 2025 – Civil Engineering Department

IIT Guwahati Civil Engineering Department invites application for Summer Internship 2025.

Eligibility

• Only those candidates appearing in the 3rd Year of their B.E./B.Tech. degree in Civil Engineering are eligible for this program. Mere possession of the minimum qualification does not guarantee a summer internship.

General Information

• There is no application fee.
• Candidates need to contact faculty members in the Dept. of Civil Engineering, IIT Guwahati, for their consent to host and can identify possible projects for summer training prior to application. Please visit the department website to check the contact details of the faculty members and their areas of interest.
• Candidates having consent from the faculty need to apply through the online portal (link given). Fill all the information in the application form and upload the following documents in a single file (.pdf format with a maximum size of 2 MB):
  • Consent letter/email from the identified faculty of the Civil Engineering Department, IIT Guwahati)
  • A letter of reference from the HOD/Supervisor of the parent University/Institution.
  • One Page bio-data highlighting your achievements/skill/knowledge.
• Incomplete applications without the photo, consent letter from faculty, the letter of reference from the parent Institute, and the bio-data will be rejected.
• Please take a print of your application, and submit it to the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Guwahati (with other uploaded documents in original) upon arrival if you are offered the summer internship.
• Also, please submit the ‘Personal details of summer trainee’ form available at our department office during your summer internship. You must submit this form to the department office before leaving.
• Laboratory/Library/Computer Centre may be used for academic purpose only with prior approval of the person in-charge (in this context, the candidate should note that the students of the Civil Engineering Department IIT Guwahati gets priority to use these facilities). However, anybody found misusing these facilities (like chatting, surfing, playing music or videos) will be barred from these facilities without prior notice/warning.
• No stipend will be offered by the Dept. of Civil Engineering or IITG. However, in exceptional cases, the supervisors may provide financial help from their research/consultancy projects as per the Institute rule.
• Candidates may stay in the hostels within IITG Campus, which will be allotted as per the Institute rule.
• Before coming to IIT Guwahati, candidates need to contact with their internship faculty at IIT Guwahati about the hostel accommodation during the internship.

Steps for Online Registration

• Click on ‘New Registration’ tab and fill the Registration Form.
• After Registration, an Email will be sent with the password (Do not reply to the Automated Mail).
• Log in on the portal using the Email and password and fill up the Online Application Form.

• Last Date of Application: 30 March, 2024
• Notification to Candidates: 10 April, 2024
• Maximum Duration of the Summer Internship: 15 May, 2024 to 15 July, 2024
