Central University of Gujarat PhD Admission 2025-26 (Phase-II)

Central University of Gujarat invites online applications for admissions to Ph.D. Programmes for the Academic Year 2025-26 (Phase-II) from eligible candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have successfully completed their Master’s Degree Programme in compliance with the stipulated eligibility criteria as per the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022 dated 07/11/2022, are eligible for online application for admission to Ph.D. Programme.
• Further, those candidates who have qualified for the UGC-NET, CSIR-UGCNET and have NET score can apply for the Ph.D. Programme offered by this University. (As per UGC’s communication F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee)/ 2024(NET)/ 140648 dated 28-March-2024 and Public Notice of even number dated 27-March-2024).

In addition to aforementioned eligibility criteria, the applicants are required to comply with the “Programme Specific Eligibility Criteria” mentioned as under:

• PhD in Applied Chemistry
  • Master’s Degree (P.G.) in Chemical Sciences, Industrial Chemistry, Material Sciences, Nano Sciences, Computational Science, Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
• PhD in Chemical Sciences
  • Master’s Degree (PG) in Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Allied Subjects – Material Sciences, Industrial Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and any other relevant disciplines of Chemical Sciences or Chemistry.
• PhD in Environment and Sustainable Development
  • Master’s Degree (P.G.) in Environmental sciences, Life Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Geology.
• PhD in German Studies
  • Master’s Degree (P.G.) in German.
• PhD in Life Sciences
  • Master’s Degree (P.G.) in Life Sciences / Animal Science / Plant Science / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Tissue engineering / Biomaterials / Biochemistry / Genetics / Bioinformatics or any other related disciplines of Biological Sciences.
• PhD in Nano Sciences
  • Master’s Degree (P.G.) in Nanoscience / Nanotechnology / Physics / Chemistry / Life Sciences / Biology / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry or any related discipline.
• PhD in Studies in Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy
  • Master’s Degree (P.G.) in any discipline.

Admission Procedure

• The admission to Ph.D. Programme will be governed as per UGC’s communication F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024(NET)/ 140648 dated 28-March-2024 and Public Notice of even number dated 27-March-2024 and University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022 dated 07/11/2022, as amended from time-to-time.
• All candidates are hereby informed that the Interviews of eligible candidates for Ph.D. Admission will be scheduled on 17.02.2026– 11:30 a.m. onwards. The detailed scheduled for the interview will be notified at later stage – through University website.

Application Process

• All candidates are required to register for their online application for admission to Ph.D. Programme on https://cugadm.samarth.edu.in/ within the stipulated schedule.
• After successful submission of online application and payment thereon, the candidates should take a print-out of the application form generated through SAMARTH eGov. This print-out along with all necessary supporting selfattested copies of the documents (Along with the Original documents) shall be required to be produced at the time of document verification.

• Commencement Date: 30 January, 2026
• Last Date: 10 February, 2026
• Interviews of eligible candidates for Ph.D. Admission: 17 February, 2026
