Central University of Andhra Pradesh is inviting applications for admission to PhD Programmes in various Departments for the Academic year 2025-26 (Jan-June 2026 Session).

Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree programme or qualification declared equivalent to the Master’ degree in relevant subjects (see program-specific eligibility criteria in table given 1) with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to access, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
- A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade will be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories. The relaxation in marks is subject to the decisions by the University Grants Commission (UGC) India, from time to time.
Program Specific Eligibility Criteria
- Political Science: Master’s degree in political sciences/ public administration /international Relations/ Public Policy and Governance/ Development Studies/ Human Rights or any other allied disciplines of Social Sciences as decided by the University with a minimum of 55% of marks
- Economics: Master’s degree in economics or any other allied disciplines of Social Sciences as decided by the University with a minimum of 55% of marks
- English Language & Literature: Master’s degree in English or any other allied/relevant disciplines as decided by the University with a minimum of 55% of marks
- Psychology: Master’s degree in psychology / applied psychology or any other allied/relevant discipline as decided by the University with a minimum 55% marks
- Telugu: Master’s Degree in Telugu or any other allied/relevant disciplines as decided by the University with a minimum of 55% Marks
- Management: Master’s degree in business administration/ management/2-year PGDM/ other relevant/ allied disciplines as decided by the University with a minimum of 55% of marks.
Selection Process
The admission to the Ph. D Programmes shall be made as per the following criteria:
Candidates who have qualified fellowship/scholarship in UGC NET/ UGC-CSIR NET/ GATE/ CEED and similar National Level Tests, have to apply through CUAP PhD admission portal and appear directly for interview.
Additional Information
- Admission granted will be cancelled at any time, if it is found that the information furnished by the candidate is false or incorrect or if, at a later stage, it is found that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed for the programme.
- List of selected/waitlisted candidates will be hosted on the University website along with admission schedule/ instructions. No individual admission intimation will be sent to the selected/ waitlisted candidates. Hence, the applicants are advised to see the University website regularly for updates regarding admission.
- The University reserves the right to increase/decrease the intake of any of the programmes. The University also reserves the right not to offer any of its programmes, if necessary.
