Eligibility
- Eligibility for Ph.D. in Traditional Subject
- The candidate must have a Master’s degree (Acharya) in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
- Eligibility for Ph.D. in Education (Shiksha-Shastra)
- The candidate must have a Master’s degree (Acharya) or M.Ed. (Shiksha-Shastra) with 55% marks and must have studied Sanskrit as a subject at the graduate level for three years.
- A mark of 50% is considered a valid achievement for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC – Non-Creamy Layer), and other physically challenged candidates.
Selection Process
- Applicants interested in admission to the Ph.D. program must register online through the relevant portal.
- The number of eligible applicants to be called for the interview will be determined by the concerned department based on the number of available seats in that department.
- Candidates who have qualified the UGC-NET in July 2024, December 2024, and June 2025 will be included (or considered).
Weightage
Admission will be based on the following weightage:
- Marks obtained in the UGC NET: 70% weightage.
- Marks obtained in the Interview/Viva Voce: 30% weightage.

- Eligible candidates can apply online through the University website: www.slbsrsv.ac.in.
- Fill out the online application form carefully.
- The information provided in the online application form will be verified at the time of the interview and admission.
- If any information is found to be false or unauthenticated, legal action will be taken as per rules. This includes cancellation of admission/application or debarring from admission.
- Upload your clear and recent photograph with the date printed on the online application form. A photograph taken more than three months ago will not be accepted. If the photo does not match at the time of admission, the application will not be considered.
- Online applications will not be accepted after the last date.
- Only eligible candidates, as per the eligibility criteria determined by the U.G.C. (University Grants Commission) guidelines, can apply.
