Central University of Jammu PhD Admission 2025 (July)

Online applications are invited from the eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. degree programme in different disciplines in the Central University of Jammu for the session 2025-26 (July, 2025).

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have completed a 1-year/2-semester Master’s Degree Programme after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s Degree Programme or a 2-year/4-semester Master’s Degree Programme after a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree Programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the Master’s Degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed. For Engineering departments, first class with 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG level. Or
• Equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently- abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

Admission Procedure

Only those candidates who have qualified JRF /NET /GATE examination are eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. programme.

The distribution of weight age to different components for determining the merit shall be as under:

• JRF/NET/GATE / CET(Score): 50 %
• Quality of proposal for presentation & Interview: 50 %

The final selection shall be made on the basis of composite marks (as mentioned above) awarded by the Committee.

Application Process

• The online application form for admission to Ph.D. programme in different Departments/Centres/Disciplines is available on the University website www.cujammu.ac.in. The eligible candidates may visit the University website and submit the online application form.
• The candidates shall be required to upload/submit the following documents along with online application form.
  • Master’s degree final mark sheet and Certificate
  • NET /NET-JRF /GATE Certificate (CSIR /DBT /ICMR /UGC)(if applicable)
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)

• Start date of submission of online application form: 4 August, 2025
• Closing date of submission of online application form: 25 August, 2025
