Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur Wanted Junior Research Fellow in a time-bound research project (CSIR-ASPIRE project sanctioned by CSIR-HRDG (03WS(006)/2023-24/EMR-II/ASPIRE).

Job description

• Carry out work on the research project with title as mentioned above;
• Keep and maintain the record of the work in presentable form (soft as well as hard copy);
• Keep a track of contingencies/consumables required for the work;
• To carry out the detailed literature survey, writing research papers and technical reports;
• The selected candidate will have to abide by the rules, regulations, ordinances, statutes, and acts of the institute applicable from time to time.

Essential Qualification

M.Sc. in Physics from recognized universities/institutes with 55% marks and passing of NET-LS/GATE/ CSIR-UGC JRF examination.

Age limit

The upper age limit for JRF shall be 28 years as on the day on which the application is made.

Age relaxation

The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.

Fellowship

Rs. 37,000/- p.m. for first 2 years Rs. 42,000/ p.m. for 3rd year

Duration

The assignment is purely temporary in nature and shall be co-terminus with the duration and requirement of the project. Initial appointment is for the period of six months, which can be extended up to 03 years solely based on satisfactory performance.

Desired qualification

The candidate from relevant background will be preferred.

Ph.D. Opportunity

The selected JRF candidate will have the opportunity to register for a regular PhD program provided the candidate satisfies the eligibility criterion for the PhD program in Department of Physics. Candidates interested to extend their JRF to the Ph.D. program as per VNIT rules will be preferred.
