VNIT Nagpur JRF Recruitment at PHE Sector Development Scheme

Applications are invited for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position (on contract basis) to work under the PHE Sector Development Scheme, funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) through CPHEEO sponsored project entitled “Urban Flood Resilience Index for Urban Areas”.

Remuneration per month

Rs. 37,000 for 1^st & 2^nd Year (Consolidated)

Essential Qualification

As per MoHUA and Institute Guidelines for research schemes/ sponsored schemes/ Emeritus Scientist.

Eligibility

• Candidate should hold a M.Tech./Integrated M.Tech or equivalent in relevant areas such as Hydraulic and Water Resource Engg/Hydrological Extremes/Urban Floods etc. with a good academic background and sound knowledge in SWMM tool/HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS/Hydrology is desirable.
• Candidates who are expected to submit their Master’s degree by last date of advertisement, are also eligible to apply for this post.
• Candidates having qualifying GATE/NET score will be preferred (old GATE/NET score can also be considered).

Duration of the project

2 years (maximum) or until tenure of the project (whichever is earlier).

Note on Duration

The duration of the post will be initially for six months and may be extended every six months for two years, further subject to satisfactory performance and provisions under the project. The post is entirely temporary in nature and will be terminated with the completion of the project.

Ph.D. Program Opportunity

The candidate selected for the position of JRF will have the option to register for PhD program subjected to satisfying VNIT’s norms for registration.
