Applications are invited for admission to the Department of Biochemistry, University of Calcutta for Ph.D. registration for the year 2025 from eligible Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Physical Sciences post graduate students.

Maximum up to 20 candidates will be selected on the basis of merit.

Eligibility

  • The eligibility of the candidate will be as per UGC rules. Candidates with valid NET/GATE/DBT-NET/DST INSPIRE are not required to appear in the written test but need to qualify for the interview.
  • Others will have to appear in a written MCQ (on Biochemistry) examination of 50 marks, the duration of which will be 2 hours.
  • The list of selected candidates for the interview will be displayed on the Departmental Notice Board.
  • The final selection for joining this program will be made based on performance in the interview.
  • Declaration of names of finally selected candidates will be notified after approval by the University Authorities.
  • Please note that RET qualification does not ensure Research Fellowship.
