Sardar Patel University Mandi, Himachal Pradesh invites application for PhD Admission 2025-26.

Eligibility

• Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Master degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC-7 point scale (or equivalent grade in appoint scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting quality and standards of educational institutions.
• A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decisions of the University taken from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991.

Selection Process

Application for direct admission to Ph.D. Programme (without Entrance Test) for the session 2025-2026 in the Teaching Departments of Sardar Patel University are invited from the eligible candidates who have qualified UGC NET(JRF)/ UGC-CSIR(JRF)/ NFSC, NFST/ MAULANA AZAD FELLOWSHIP/ INSPIRE/ sponsored by ICSSR/ DBT-JRF, ICMR or any other department of Govt. of India.

Preferences in the Direct admission shall be as under:

• Preference shall be given to CSIR/ UGC NET/ (JRF) and other equivalent fellowship holder candidates through National Level Test agency and the merit shall be drawn offer giving 70% weightage to score detained in Nationalized test & 30% weightage must be given interview.
• For remaining seats, if available after above, the admission in Ph. D. Programme shall be made among other fellowship holders like NFSC, NFST, Maulana, etc.

For Direct Admission of Ph.D. Course under the INSPIRE, the candidate(s) must be INSPIRE JRF with final (JRF) award letter.

The applicant is required to submit degree completion certificate at the time of counseling/ Interview.

The form is available on the website of the university & should be submitted on or before 15.12.2025. to the respective Heads of Department of SPU Mandi, directly by post along with required documents.
