Examination Paper Pattern
- Paper I – Research Methodology – 35 Marks
- Multiple Choice Questions – (1 Mark each * 10 MCQ), No Negative Marking
- Descriptive Questions (5 Marks * 5 Questions)
- Paper II – Subject Wise – 35 Marks
- Multiple Choice Questions – (1 Mark each * 10 MCQ), No Negative Marking
- Descriptive Questions (5 Marks * 5 Questions)
The entrance test shall be a qualifying examination. Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each subject separately -ie, Research Methodology (mandatorily for all) and Subject-concerned.
In addition to this component-wise requirement, candidates must secure an aggregate of 50% marks across both subjects combined.
A relaxation of 5% will be considered for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Specially-Abled Candidates, and Women Candidates in both segments.
RRU Doctoral Fellowship
- Maximum Fellowships to be awarded shall be decided by the Vice Chancellor of the University every year at the time of PhD Admission. The fellowship shall be maximum for 3 years (36 months) from the date of award of fellowship.
- No extension can be granted for the maximum tenure of fellowship in any circumstances. However Ph.D. work can be carried out without fellowship as per general rules/regulations of the University.
- The fellowship shall be disbursed on monthly basis on the recommendation of Dean (R&P) on duly forwarded request of the Supervisor.
- Each Fellowship shall be of Rs. 40,000/- (Rs. Fourty thousand only) per month. No other allowance will be Applicable.
RRU Doctoral Fellowship Guidelines
Minimum Academic Qualifications
- Applicants for both Regular and Practitioners PhD programs must possess a master’s degree from a recognized university in an allied discipline of National Security, securing not less than 55% marks or its equivalent.
- The same qualifications also apply to International candidates.

- Application forms for all courses and programs are available on the university website.
- Applicants are permitted to submit applications for a single course only. If interested in multiple courses, it is recommended to submit each application separately.
