Rama Devi Women’s University PhD Admission 2025-26

Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha invites online application for PhD admission for the academic session 2025-26.

Eligibility Criteria

• Women candidates with Master Degree securing at least 55% of marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or an equivalent Grade in the concerned subject or related allied subject from any University/ Institution recognized as equivalent thereto by RDWU. The allied subjects for admission into Ph.D. programme in a particular department shall be decided by the respective Department Research Committee (DRC).
• A relaxation of 5% marks, from 55% to 50% or equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwD and other categories of candidates as per the State Reservation Policy from time to time or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991. A relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on qualifying marks without including grace marks.
• Women candidates those who have qualified the entrance conducted by UGC or CSIR and awarded NET (JRF)/ NET (Assistant Professor)/ NET – Eligibility for Ph.D. within the validity period, may be considered for the Ph.D. Course work Programs of the Rama Devi Women’s University, subject to the fulfillment of criteria specified in the prospectus. Seats are reserved for people belonging to different categories such as SC/ST/Divyang, as per the rules.
• NET/JRF qualified applicants are required to submit the category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/Gen-EwS/PwD) along with application form online as well as at the time of admission, under which they have qualified NET/JRF.

Selection Process

• A list of eligible candidates as per their obtained score will be published on the University Website for appearing in the interview/ viva-voce examination.
• Admission shall be finalized strictly on the basis of conduct, research aptitude. ability to work in a team, subject interest, availability of Supervisors, facilities in the department and research focus of the department.
• An interview/ viva-voce to be conducted by the respective Departments where the candidates are required to discuss their research interests/ areas before a duly constituted Department Research Committee (DRC). Note: Candidates failing to appear at the interview/ Viva-voce will not be considered for admission.
• Selection of the candidates will be prepared by the respective lead/ Coordinator of the Departments as per the UGC guidelines issued vide no. F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024(NET)/140648 Date: 27th March, 2024.
• The candidates having Grade Points, are requested to submit the conversion rule (% conversion), otherwise the conversion rule of RDWU will be applicable to calculate the percentage.
• The list of successful candidates will be published on the University Website for admission.
• The candidates are requested to visit the University Website regularly for updates regarding Ph.D. admission related information.

Application Process

• Interested and eligible candidates may apply ONLINE by clicking ‘e-Admission’ in the University Website (https://rdwu.ac.in).
• The candidate needs to read the Ph.D. Admission Prospectus, instructions related to online application process and eligibility minutely before registration into online application.
• The candidate has to upload all required documents/certificates on the online portal.
• Application fees of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only).
• The candidate has also to keep a print-out of the online generated application form for reference and later use.

• HSC/10th Certificate & Mark Sheet.
• +2/12th Certificate & Mark Sheet.
• +3 Degree Certificate & Mark Sheet.
• Post-Graduation Certificate & Mark Sheet.
• Phil. Certificate & Mark Sheet.
• NET/NET-JRF Certificate coming under Category-1, 2 & 3 (conducted by UGC/ CSIR) applicable for Ph.D.
• Category Certificate (Gen-EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PwD, etc.) in which the candidate has qualified NET/NET-JRF etc. The category shall be verified by scanning the QR Code of NET/NET-JRF and other certificates as applicable.
• No Objection Certificate for Pre-Ph.D. Coursework as well as Ph.D. registration issued by the employer in case of employed candidates.
• In case of unemployed, the candidate has to give an undertaking that she is not working in any State/ Central/ Private College/ University/ Institution either on a short-term/ full-time/ contractual/Guest Faculty basis.
• Proof of reservation category (SC/ST/PwD), if any.
• Photocopy of Aadhaar Card.
• Passport size photo
• Scanned signature of candidate

Applicants are required to upload mark sheets. In case all two years’ marks are not reflected in a single mark sheet, candidates are required to upload all the mark sheets (individual semester/annual).

• Commencement of Pre-Ph.D. Coursework: 13 July, 2026
