Applications are invited from Indian nationals only for JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF) / PROJECT ASSOCIATE-I (PA-I) position as per the details given below for the ANRF sponsored research project under the Principal Investigator (Dr. Yogesh Kumar), Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Patna, Bihar, India.
Title of Project
Development of Directed Energy Deposition Gas Metal Arc (DED-GMA) setup for fabricating Aluminum Alloy and Experimental Investigation on the Effect of Process Parameters on Metallurgical and Mechanical Properties of fabricated components.

Qualification for JRF
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate in Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR –UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- The Selection process through National level examinations conducted by central Government departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Qualifications for PA-I
B. E/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized University OR M.E/M.Tech in Manufacturing OR in any other related specialization with 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
Emoluments
- JRF: ₹ 37,000 + HRA (first 2 years) & ₹ 42,000 + HRA for (Last 1 year) (Valid Gate/NET score)
- PA-I: ₹ 30,000 + HRA (first 2 years) and ₹ 33,000 + HRA for (Last 1 year) (No Gate/NET score)
Duration
3 years (Initially for one year, and up-gradation will be done based on satisfactory performance)
Job description
The JRF involved will work on the broader areas of research and development relating to the project. The JRF involved may be allowed to join the Ph.D. programme, subject to the eligibility criteria as per NIT Patna, Bihar, India.
