Eligibility Criteria

NIPER-SAS Nagar is inviting applications for direct Ph.D. admission for candidates having their own fellowship from CSIR-UGC NET (NET-LS not eligible)/DBT-JRF examination(‘A’ category only)/DST-INSPIRE Fellowships/ICMR-JRF examination (those selected for working only in ICMR projects are not eligible) are eligible to apply.

Admission of candidates having DSTINSPIRE fellowship shall stand cancelled in case candidate fails to obtain fellowship from DST. NIPER will not provide any fellowship to such candidates from its funds, however the student can claim from the original funding agency which selected them for fellowship.

Please note that valid proofs of clearing the fellowship examinations are mandatory for appearing in the interview.

The candidate should have good academic background in respective discipline and he/she should be self motivated with an independent, target-oriented and systematic working style.

A high degree of creativity and flexibility as well as excellent collaborative skills are desirable.

Note:

Candidates applying for admission to Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics may also apply for the Ph.D. admission to Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulation) and vice versa. The candidates who opt for both departments will be placed in the respective merit list based on the marks scored in the common exam under Pharmaceutical Sciences of NIPER JEE 2025. However, the candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria of the respective department as per the NIPER ordinance. No separate application fees need to be paid for opting for admission to both subjects.
The candidate should have qualified degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA of 6.75 on a 10 point scale wherever grades are awarded or equivalent as determined by Board of Studies and Research of NIPER (Percentage of marks or CGPA so calculated will be based on the norms fixed by the concerned University / Institution or aggregate marks or CGPA scored by the candidate for all years of the qualifying degree, in case University /Institution has not prescribed any norm for calculating such percentage or CGPA).
Qualification of GPAT/GATE/NET is an essential qualification except for the candidates holding M.D., M.V.Sc, MDS, Pharm.D.

Application Process

All the interested candidates for Direct Ph.D. Admission can submit their application {as per attached format (PDF)} alongwith application fee of Rs. 500/- {to be paid online (NEFT details attached)} to Dean, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Sector 67, S.A.S. Nagar 160062, Punjab on or before 30th June, 2025.
Any application received after the due date will not be entertained.
There will be no responsibility of the institute for any postal delay.

Following documents should be submitted along with the application:

Matriculation Certificate as a proof of age and correct name.
Mark sheets of all the semesters’ years of qualifying degree.
Original Migration Certificate (Last University/ Institute Attended)
GPAT/GATE/NET Card wherever applicable.
Award letter (if any) of NET-JRF of CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR, DST etc.
Caste certificate, if applicable.
Certificate of disability, if applicable.

Selection Process

The applications will be scrutinized and shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
No TA/DA or any other expenses will be paid for appearing in the interview.
