National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) PhD Admission through National Exam Route 2025

National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) invites application for PhD Admission through National Exam Route 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s degrees in any branch of Biology OR 5- year degrees (e.g. MBBS, BDS) OR professional Master’s Degrees (MPharm/ MTech). And
• The candidate must have passed at least one of the following scholarship examinations: CSIR / UGC-JRF or DBT or ICMR or qualified in GATE with validity as on 01 August 2025 can only apply. Only Top 5 Percentile students are eligible to apply.

Fellowship

• All selected candidates will be eligible to receive the regular JRF fellowship (Rs. 37,000 monthly + HRA as applicable) for the first two years with the standard annual contingency and later for upgraded SRF fellowship (Rs. 42,000 monthly + HRA as applicable) after the qualifications for registration are met.
• The selected candidates can avail of their own national fellowship or the TIFR fellowship.
