  • MSc. (Hort.) Fruit Science/M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture with an OGPA of 3.00 / 4.00, 6.50 / 10.00 or 65 % marks under marks system of examination in respective degree programme.
  • The candidate must have completed degree from any University accredited by ICAR under 10 + 2 + 4 + 2 system of education.

Floriculture & Landscaping

  • MSc. (Hort.) Floriculture & Landscaping/M. Sc. (Hort.) Floriculture & Landscape Architecture/ M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture with an OGPA of 3.00 / 4.00, 6.50 / 10.00 or 65 % marks under marks system examination in respective degree programme.

  • The candidate must have completed degree from any University accredited by ICAR under 10 + 2 + 4 + 2 system of education in respective degree program.

PhD Common Entrance Test (CET) 2025 Regulations

  • Ph.D.-CET is mandatory for Ph.D. admissions.
  • Each in-service or fresh candidate has to fulfill minimum admission requirement.
  • The admission of Ph.D. seats will be made only on the basis1 of CET merit list through Online Counseling. The faculty wise merit list will be prepared separately. In case of a tie in CET marks between two candidates, the following criteria will be adopted for determining the merit rank of the candidate:2
    • I. Preference will be given to the candidate with higher OGPA / Percentage in PG degree.
    • II. In case of tie as per S. No. I above, preference will be given to the elder candidate.
    • III. In case of tie as per S. No. II above, preference will be given to the candidate with higher percentage of marks in class 12th.
    • IV. In case of further tie as per S. No. III above, the decision of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor will be final.
  • The Ph.D. CET-2025 will be based upon CET syllabus for admission in Ph.D. programme of the Vishwavidyalaya. It will be available on website (https://mguvv.ac.in).
  • There will be 100 multiple choice objective type questions of 100 marks with no negative marking. There will be separate question papers for each Department. There will be no re-checking and re-totaling of CET answer books. The OMR Sheet of CET will be scanned and evaluated by an electronic system for preparing merit list.
  • The timings of Ph.D. CET-2025 will be from 02.00 PM to 03.30 PM.
  • There shall be 33% cut off marks for qualifying Ph.D.-CET for both regular and In-service candidates. In case of SC and ST, 5 % relaxation in cutoff marks will be provided.3 If seats remain vacant, the cutoff marks shall be reduced accordingly till the seats are filled as per4 the merit.
  • Age limit: There shall be no age limit for Ph.D. programme.
  • The candidate having CG State Domicile Certificate including master degree holders from MGUVV/ IGKV will be given preference for admission in Ph.D. degree programme. The admission of non-domicile candidates from other states shall be considered in Ph.D. degree programme, if seats are vacant after conversion counseling in regular, in-service and other quota seats. The candidates from outside of Chhattisgarh state will be treated under Un-reserved category.
  • For admission in Ph.D. degree programme, apart from the regular seat there will be a provision of quota seats such as self finance seat (SFS), sponsored seat and seat for SRF candidates. Eligibility criteria for the admission in these seats are same as regular seat.
  • The seats for MGUVV in – service candidates will be governed by the study leave regulation.
  • The Director Instructions (DI), MGUVV, DURG shall be the chairman of the admission committee for all the Ph.D. degree programs of the Vishwavidyalaya. The admission committee will be constituted by DI after prior approval of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor.
  • In all matters regarding admission to the Ph.D. programme, the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final. The Vishwavidyalaya reserves the right to cancel the admission at any time when it is found that the admission was granted wrongly by oversight, mistake, admission, error, non – eligibility of the candidate. The decision of the Vishwavidyalaya will be final
  • Online counseling will be followed as per the schedule/Guideline available on Website (https://mguvv.ac.in).
  • Candidates are requested to visit regularly the MGUVV website for all the details related to Ph.D. – CET examination, counseling and verification for the allotment of Ph.D. seats.
  • Admission rules, regulations and procedure of admission shall be available before counseling on website https://mguvv.ac.in and will be final for admission.
  • In case of any unfair means (UFM), the candidates will be automatically disqualified for admission.
  • Candidates who have appeared in the final year examination of PG programme and expected to complete their degree before 30th September, 2025 can also apply for CET examination.
  • In case, on line payment of fees is not done at any time due to internet failure / Technical problem then, the amount will automatically be bounced back to that particular account from which payment was made within 05 working days.

The Ph.D. CET -2025 for Ph.D. admission in Horticulture and Forestry Faculty will be held on June 22, 2025 at the following Centers:
