Maa Pateswari University Balrampur invites application for PhD Admission for session 2024-25 through Research Eligibility Test 2025 (MPU-RET-2025).

Eligibility

• A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree Programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree Programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree Programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree Programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time. Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree Programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
• Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. Programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. Programme. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

Selection Process

Final merit will include 70% weightage of written test (MPU-RET) and 30% weightage for interview/ vivavoce. However, in case of candidates exempted from entrance test their interview score shall be scaled up to 100%.

MPU Research Eligibility Test 2025 (MPU-RET-2025)

• The MPU-RET-2025 for various Ph.D. programme of Maa Pateswari University, Balrampur will be conducted at the Maharani Lal Kunwari (P.G.) College Campus Balrampur but in special circumstances Centers may also be allocated at different institutions in Gonda and Bahraich district.
• Candidates are advised to fill up the Answer-OMR sheet carefully during Examination.
• The Entrance Test will be based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) containing one question paper.
• The question paper set will comprise of two sections with a total of 70 Questions. One section of 35 questions will assess the subject knowledge and the other section of 35 questions will be related to Research Methodology. The paper will be of 2 hours duration.
• There will not be any negative marking.
• The minimum qualifying marks for the test will be 50% marks.
• A relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks (in the aggregate) will be provided to the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ Differently-abled categories/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
• The average percentage of marks will not be rounded off to the next higher integer.

• Only Black Ball Point Pen should be used for blackening the circles on the answer sheet.
• Correction fluid should not be used.
• Candidates are not permitted to carry paper, mobile phone or any other type of gadgets for communication in the examination Hall/Room.
• Nothing should be written on the Question Booklet except Roll Number.
• The candidates should ensure that the answer sheet is not folded or damaged and thereshould not be any stray marks on the answer sheet.
• The candidate must bring his/her admit card to appear in MPU-RET-2025. If a candidate fails to bring the admit card, he/she will not be allowed to appear in the MPU-RET-2025.

• During online application form filling process, the candidate has to upload scanned copies of passport size photograph and signature in JPEG format (50 KB).
