Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) PhD Admission 2025-26

Kerala University of Fisheries & Ocean Studies, Kochi, Kerala invites online application for PhD admission for the academic session 2025-26.

Eligibility Criteria

Faculty of Fisheries Science

Master’s degree in the respective / related discipline recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0 (In the case of SC/ST candidates, an OGPA of 6.5/10.0) and based on the NTA score of ICAR/AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) 2025

Faculty of Ocean Science and Technology, Faculty of Fisheries Management and Faculty of Fisheries Engineering

Masters degree in the respective/ related discipline recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies with 55% marks (for SC/ST students, relaxation as per the regulation).

The students who are currently in the final semester/ year of the qualifying examination of UG and PG can also apply for the Post-graduate/ PhD programmes of KUFOS. Candidates need to produce a certificate from the Head of the Institute stating that he/she has completed all the formalities required for obtaining a degree/ post-graduate degree programme and awaiting the results of the examination at the time of admission. However, their admission will be provisional, pending fulfilment of the complete eligibility. It is mandatory that all the candidates once admitted should fulfil the requirements regarding the eligibility before the first semester examination of the course to which the students are admitted failing which their admission shall become invalid.

Admission Process

• Admission for all PhD programmes (except PhD under Faculty of Fisheries Science) will be done based on the KUFOS entrance examination results. Students shall be admitted to the programme from the respective rank list. Students once allotted to the course of their choice shall not be allowed to change later.
• Admission for all PhD programmes under the Faculty of Fisheries Science will be based on the results of NTA score of PhD 2025 of ICAR.

Application Process

• The University accepts only online applications for its post-graduate and Ph.D programmes. Students are directed to visit the KUFOS website ‘www.kufos.ac.in’ and follow the online application instructions provided.
• Candidates must register in the website www.admissions.kufos.ac.in submit online application, pay fees through SBI Collect link provided, and check the status of application.
• Download the Hall ticket for the entrance examination and check the status of their admission on this online admission portal.
• Foreign/Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Indian Citizen (OIC) and NRI candidates can also apply through the online mode. Foreign/NRI students need not write the entrance examination of KUFOS.
• Candidates must make sure that they fulfil eligibility criteria before filling up an online application.
• The candidate alone shall be responsible for uploading correct information in the online application http://admission.kufos.ac.in/

• Date of notification: 19 March, 2025
• Last date of online application: 21 April, 2025
• Date of entrance examination: 24 August, 2025
