Eligibility Criteria

PhD in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Forestry/ Agricultural Engineering
- Master’s Degree in the respective discipline/ related discipline from the faculty concerned.
- A basic degree in the relevant faculty is essential.
- 4 years Basic Degree (UG) and 2 years PG, from a University/ Institution accredited by ICAR will be strictly followed.
PhD in Agricultural Statistics
- M.Sc. in Agricultural Statistics. 2 years PG, from a University/ Institution accredited by ICAR will strictly be followed.
PhD in Community Science (Food and Nutrition)
- M.Sc. in Community Science (Food and Nutrition) or equivalent recognized by KAU.
PhD in Rural Marketing Management
- Master’s Degree in the respective discipline/related discipline from the faculty concerned of KAU/State Agricultural Universities or a recognized equivalent qualification by KAU. Basic Degree UG 4 years and Master’s degree 2 years from SAUs recognized by KAU will be strictly followed for admissions.

Minimum Requirement

PG (Grade point system) (OGPA):

- General category: Requires a minimum OGPA of 7.00 out of 10.00.
- SC/ST/PwD category: Requires a minimum OGPA of 6.50 out of 10.00.
PG (Traditional system) (Percentage):
- General category: Requires a minimum of 60%.
- SC/ST/PwD category: Requires a minimum of 55%.

Selection Process

Selection of candidates will be based on the ICAR Entrance examination (AICE- JRF/ SRF (Ph.D) conducted for the academic session 2025-26.
KAU will conduct separate entrance exam for Community Science and Rural Marketing Management.

Candidates will be ranked based on the following criteria:

ICAR/KAU Entrance Examination: 75 marks
Academic Performance (PG Degree Examination): 15 marks
Publication: 10 marks
