IIT Tirupati Wanted Junior Research Fellow

Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a timebound sponsored project undertaken in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Project Title

“Improvement of geoid model derived from EGM at regional scale by advanced gravimetric geoid modelling.”

Monthly Salary

INR 37000.00 + HRA as applicable (As per DST)

Tenure of Assignment

Initially for 6 months, extendable up to two years of project subject to performance.

Essential Qualification

• B. Tech and M. Tech in Civil/ Earth science/ Geoinformatics/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Geophysics/ Geology with a minimum of 60% marks.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have valid GATE scores. CGPA requirements: 8/10 CGPA or 80% marks Relaxation: 7.5 CGPA or 75% for OBC/EWS 7.0 CGPA or 70% for SC/ST/PWD.

Desired Experience

Must have exposure to Geodesy and decent programming skills.

Nature of Work

• The selected candidate will work on regional gravimetric geoid modelling.
• The candidate will develop a regional gravimetric geoid model using available open-source software.
• Additionally, they are expected to develop efficient algorithms to improve the conventional geoid modelling processing chain.

Age Limit

Not more than 35 years as of 13-02-2025 (Relaxed for exceptional candidates and reserved category)
