School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SCENE) of IIT Mandi is inviting applications for the first round of admission process in the Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) programme in a variety of disciplines and interdisciplinary areas under Regular Full-Time, sponsored Project, Self-sponsored /Part-Time mode for the ODD semester commencing from August, 2025 at IIT Mandi.

Minimum Eligibility Criterion
Qualifying Degree (as mentioned above):
- Master’s or equivalent degree in Engineering/Technology And/OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent*
*For qualifying degree listed under (2) candidates must also fulfil ONE of the following additional requirements:
- Qualified GATE / NET or any other equivalent National level examination.
- Selected through a National level examination conducted by MoE or its agencies /Institutions such as UGC/ IITs/ IISc./IISERs/ IIITs etc.
- Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience (acquired after obtaining the qualifying degree and completed before the starting of the semester in which admission is sought).
*Exemptions from mandatory requirements of valid GATE or National Level examination:
- B.Tech./B.E./B.S. (or equivalent) degree from CFTI (Centrally Funded Technical Institute)/ any of the top 100 institutes according to NIRF ranking (overall category) at the time of application/ any Himachal Pradesh Govt. institution or universities with CGPA/CPI of at least (on a scale of 10) or equivalent as per the Institute guidelines below.
- a) UR : 7.5 CGPA
- b) OBC (NCL): 7.00 CGPA
- c) SC/ST/PwD: 6.5 CGPA
- BS-MS/M.Sc./MA/MBA/equivalent from IITs, IISERs, IISc, IIMs or any of the top 100 institutes according to NIRF ranking (overall category) at the time of application with a CGPA/CPI (on a scale of 10) or equivalent as per the Institute guidelines below.

First three choices/preference may be considered for processing the application as per the shortlisting criteria by the panel members according to the received applications. Candidates are advised to fill first choice/preference of discipline on the application portal accordingly. Candidate should submit separate application for multiple discipline/programs.
