Applications are invited from the interested candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the funded research project titled “Low-cost Prosthetics Design and Fabrication using Advanced Textile and Composites Technology” sanctioned by National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) .

Position

Junior Research Fellow (JRF): 1

Area of Specialization

Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering and related streams.

Job Profile

The selected candidate must be able to do numerical modelling of composite materials and mechanical testing on composite materials.

Duration

Initially for one year. May be extended depending on the performance or ending of the project whichever is earlier.

Consolidated Salary per Month

INR 31,000/- plus HRA as applicable.

Essential Qualification and Criteria

  • M.Tech. / M.E. in Mechanical Engineering/ Materials Engineering/ Applied Mechanics/ Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Machine design, Polymer Science, Composites, Engineering Design and related streams and B.Tech/ B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering or Polymer Science and Engineering with minimum 60% marks (or 6.5/ 10.0 CGPA). Valid GATE score is preferable.
  • OR B.Tech. /B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Materials Engineering/ Applied Mechanics/ Aerospace Engineering and related streams with a minimum 60% mark (or 6.5/ 10.0 CGPA) throughout starting from Class XII, valid GATE score is preferable /Post Graduation degree in basic science.

Desirable

  • A sound knowledge of programming languages like C/C++, Python, MATLAB
  • Experience in working on Finite Element software e.g. ABAQUS, Ansys etc.

Upper age limit

30 years for JRF (Age relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/women and physically handicapped candidates).

Important Points

  • The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of the information, other documents, and photographs submitted.
  • Merely possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate will be called for an Interview. The candidates may be shortlisted based on merit and need for the project.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed by e-mail about the interview. So, the candidate must provide valid e-mail IDs, and phone number information in their applications.
  • Shortlisted candidates must present themselves for the interview on the interview date with an updated CV and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/certificates supporting their academic qualifications. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. The time of the interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates by e-mail. The interview will be held using the online/offline platform.
  • Candidates called for interview should reach IIT Jammu on their own fund. TA/DA is not permissible to appear offline interview or joining the position if job is offered.
  • Candidates who are already employed should produce a relieving certificate from their employers if selected.
  • The date of the interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates through email.
