Sponsored Applicants from a highly reputed R & D organization or Industry.

IS (Institute Staff)

On a Part Time basis only for regular staff members of IIT Indore.

DF (Defense Forces)

for Serving personnel of defense forces (WITHOUT any scholarship from the Institute).

CT (College Teacher)

Permanent Employee of the sponsoring University/College/Institute WITHOUT any scholarship from the Institute

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Educational Qualification and Qualifying Examination

Four-year Bachelors’ degree OR five-year integrated degree OR Masters’ degree in the Electronics / Electrical / Materials Science and Engineering / Nanotechnology / Energy Science and Engineering / Microelectronics / Mathematics / Statistics/ Instrumentation / VLSI Design / Embedded System / Optoelectronics / Laser Technology / Telecommunication / Engineering Physics / Physics / Chemistry/ Mechatronics / Microwave Engineering / Biotechnology / Instrumentation and Controls

Marks /CGPA/ CPI/ Percentage requirements in Qualifying Degrees

  • For UR/EWS/OBC(NCL) category: A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate, OR A First class as specified by the university, OR A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) / Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.0 on a scale of 0 – 10, OR An equivalent to 6.0 CGPA/ CPI on other corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than 0 – 10.
  • For SC/ST/PwD category: A minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, OR A First class as specified by the university, OR A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) / Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 5.5 on a scale of 0 – 10, OR An equivalent to 5.5 CGPA/ CPI on other corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than 0 – 10. )

Application Procedure

  • Applicants have to apply ONLINE through official website of IIT Indore.
  • After submitting the application online the eligible candidates have to bring the signed hard-copy of the application along with payment receipt, recent photograph, self- attested copy of the relevant certificates, additional forms at the time of Written Test / Interview.

Note –

  • All eligible candidates, fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria, must apply ONLINE through the website (https://pgad.iiti.ac.in/).
  • After applying online, the applicants should take a printout of the application form and sign it. The scanned copy of the duly signed application form, along with the following documents, should be sent by email to: cae-office@iiti.ac.in latest by 22 May 2025. A. Self-attested photocopies of all relevant supporting documents such as degree certificates, mark sheets, date of birth certificate, etc., from Xth class onwards. Candidates may also attach attested photocopies of any other testimonials, documents, or certificates that they wish to present before the selection committee. B. Soft copy of the passport-size photograph. C. Receipt of fee (Rs.100/-) paid through SBI i-collect. D. Candidates should arrange for two referees to send the reference letter directly to cae-office@iiti.ac.in latest by 22 May 2025.
  • For SW candidates: Scanned copy of the No Objection Certificate (NOC), Experience Certificate, Salary slips of the last three months, and Employer’s PAN card must also be sent by email.
  • DO NOT send any form or documents by post.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for online interviews, and the same will be notified by email. No emails or communication, in any form, regarding shortlisted candidates, change of interview date, syllabus of written test and/or interview, etc., will be entertained.
  • Candidates are strongly advised to visit the faculty member’s webpage to learn about ongoing research work and areas of interest.
  • Mere fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criterion does not entitle anyone to admission into the Ph.D. program in CAE.
