IIM Rohtak PhD Admission 2026

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak, Haryana invites application for Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM) Admission 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should have at least one of the following qualifications:

• Post-Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA;
• Bachelor degree with at least 55% marks and Qualifications of CA, ICWA or CS.
• Bachelor degree with at least 55% marks and Qualifications of LLB degree.
• MBBS degree holders with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA + 12 months’ experience as on May 15, 2026.
• 4-years/8 Semesters Bachelor’s degree, with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent marks + 12 months’ experience as on May 15, 2026.
• Five years Integrated Master’s Degree programme in any discipline, with at least 55% marks

Those who are in the final year of their Master`s Programme are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme only provisionally if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar or Director of the university/institute that they have cleared first year and will be able to submit final year provisional mark sheet latest by September 30, 2026. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a pass certificate of master`s degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute. The deadline for submission of mark sheet and the pass certificate is December 31, 2026.

Please note that those candidates who have applied on the basis of their master’s degree will have to meet the minimum 55% marks criteria and submit the final degree mark sheet/pass certificate. Non-fulfilment of these conditions will automatically result in cancellation of the provisional admission.

Qualifying Examination

A candidate fulfilling the basic eligibility criteria should have a valid test score (not older than five years from the closing date of application) in any of the following tests mentioned for the respective area: CAT/GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC- NET in relevant discipline*

*For Example, relevant subject areas are: Commerce, Computer Science and applications, Economics, Humanities & Social Sciences, Labour Welfare and Personnel Management, Mass communication and Journalism, Management, Political science, Psychology, Public Administration, Tourism Administration and Management

Candidates possessing PGDM/MBA of IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent will be eligible for the interview process directly. Further, if they are selected, they will be exempted from the first-year PGP courses.

Non-Resident Indians, persons of Indian origin and other foreign citizens should have a valid GMAT/GRE score of not older than five years from the closing date of application.

Candidates with a Master`s Degree and 12 months of academic experience or candidates with M.Phil. or candidates with Master`s Degree with thesis in the relevant discipline may directly appear for Research Aptitude Test (RAT) to be conducted by IIM Rohtak for shortlisting.

Research Aptitude Test (RAT)

IIM Rohtak RAT will test candidates on quantitative ability, verbal ability and research aptitude.

Personal Interview

The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The candidates will be assessed for their intellectual capabilities, research aptitude and interest in the management discipline.

Financial Assistance

The participants of the DPM will be given a stipend as mentioned below:

• 45,000 for the first two years and
• 50,000 after passing the second year

In addition to this, a merit scholarship (subject to satisfactory performance) of Rs. 10,000 per month in the second year and Rs. 15,000 per month in the third and fourth years is given to the deserving participants. Additional stipend is paid for eligible scholars for research publications in unpaid, peer-reviewed ABDC-‘A*’ or ‘A’ or ‘B’ listed journals.

Contingency Grant

All the participants will receive a contingency grant of Rs. 2,50,000/- distributed across four years of the programme.

Financial Support for Conferences/Academic Exchange

The participants will be provided financial support for attending national and international conferences as well as for academic exchange visits to partner institutions as per the institute norms.

Hostel and Medical Facilities

The DPM of IIM Rohtak is a full-time residential programme and all the participants are required to stay on the campus. The existing medical facilities that are being used by other members of the Institute will be available to them.

  • Post-Graduation Mark sheets of all yearsand Certificate (if applicable)
  • Provisional Certificate of Master’s Degree (for Master’s last term/year/semester students)
• Self-attested copy of Category Certificate
• Self-attested copy of Work Experience Certificate(s)
• Copy of the Score Card/Certificate of CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC-NET/PGDM/MBA-IIM
• Self-attested copy of a valid Photo Identity proof (Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/AADHAR Card)
• Any published or unpublished research work that the candidate might have completed (One may give abstracts or summaries if the entire document cannot be sent)
• 2 Letters of Recommendation (format could be downloaded from the website) to be sent via email by faculty members/employer of the candidate to dpmadmission@iimrohtak.ac.in
