IIIT Vadodara PhD Admission 2025-26 (Autumn)

IIIT Vadodara, Gujarat invites online application for PhD admission for the academic session 2024-25. IIIT Vadodara offers PhD Program in Full Time and Part Time modes at both Gandginagar & ICD campuses.

Eligibility

Minimum eligibility criteria for PhD (Full Time) Program:

• 60% or 6 CPI on a scale of 10 or equivalent in MTech/ME in relevant areas/ MCA/ MSc (Applied Mathematics) OR
• 80% or 8.0 CPI on a scale of 10 or equivalent in BE/BTech/BS (4 yrs)/equivalent. OR
• 60% or 6 CPI on a scale of 10 or equivalent in MSc/MA/MPhil in relevant areas

Minimum eligibility criteria for PhD (Part Time) Program:

• M.Tech./M.E./M.S./M.Sc. in CSE/IT/ECE or related areas OR
• M.Tech./M.E./M.S./M.Sc./M.B.A. with relevant knowledge in CSE/IT/ECE or related areas OR Undergraduate degree in relevant areas with at least two years of work experience. OR
• For Humanities: MA/MPhil in Linguistics or English or related areas

The applicant may be an employee (regular / on contract) of a State/ Central Govt. Departments/PSUs/ Educational Institutes/ Research organizations/ Industries (with a turnover of at least 2 crore) at the time of admission having at least one year experience in the discipline in which admission is sought.

A No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institute/ Organization, in which he/she is employed, must be enclosed with the application.

Individuals with exceptional academic records meeting the essential educational qualifications and not employed may also be considered.

Financial Assistance

For Full Time PhD students:

• The institute offers financial assistance to eligible Ph.D.(Full Time) students of Rs 37,000/- per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000/- per month for the next three years.
• The amount may vary based on the institute norms. The financial assistance is against TAship, Research work and other co-academic work.
• Note that students under the Part Time category are not eligible to avail the financial assistance from the institute.

Admission Process

• Shortlisted candidates will be called for the first round of selection process (preferably online mode).
• Second round of selection process may be conducted at the institute. Such candidates will be given train fare (AC third class) to and fro their hometown and institute.

For applying, follow the steps given below:

1. Pay the application fee
2. Keep scanned copies of following documents: Marksheets & certificate of post-graduation/graduation, Category certificate, CV, photograph, Proof of payment, No Objection Certificate from current employer (if applicable)
3. The applicants must fill up the Online Application Form and SUBMIT it. Do Not leave the form half filled.
4. After successful submission, an email will be sent. Print it, sign on all pages and send it along with supporting documents by email to pgadmissions@iiitvadodara.ac.in

• Date of announcement of shortlisted candidates for selection process: 2 May, 2025
• Date of first round of selection process (online): 8-9 May, 2025
• Date of second round of selection process: 2 June, 2025 (for required candidates)
