IIIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2025 (Monsoon)

International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad invites application for PhD admission for Spring Semester 2024.

Eligibility

Minimum grade criteria: 60% or equivalent in qualifying degree would be needed for admission into all programs mentioned in the table below.

M.A. in any discipline of the Humanities or Social Sciences; M.Sc./M.S./M.Tech with research thesis; B.E./B.Tech with at least five years work experience.

Date of examination: 19th April, 2025 (2.00 PM to 5.00 PM)

Interview

Master of Science by Research & Ph.D candidates who are shortlisted based on the PGEE exam will be called for subject interview on campus.

• Ph.D applicants with high GATE score will be shortlisted directly for interview. Shortlisted candidates will be informed before the PGEE exam. Those who are not shortlisted for direct interview will still have to appear for PGEE exam.
• Any candidate with >=7 GPA on a scale of 10 from any CFTI colleges would become eligible to be shortlisted for Ph.D interviews without PGEE exam post an internal screening process.
• Any NET qualified candidate with current validity would be eligible to be shortlisted for Ph.D interviews without PGEE exam.
• Applicants for Ph.D in Human Sciences program will be asked to submit a research statement after the application deadline. Shortlisting for the interview will be done based on CV and research statement.

The decision on final offer of admission is solely based on the interview performance and the decision of the interview committee is final.

Financial Support

• Full-time Ph.D. students are given scholarships that provide a monthly stipend between Rs. 31,000/- to Rs. 35,000/- depending on the stage of the student in the Ph.D. program.
• MS and Ph.D students are provided generous travel support to present their published research work in reputed conferences.
• Many of Ph.D. students have been awarded corporate fellowships such as from Google and TCS.
