Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) Delhi invites application for admission to PhD Program for the academic year 2025-26.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Entry Qualifications for Full-Time/Part-Time Research Scholars

For Engineering:

• M.E./M.Tech. Degree or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent CGPA in the point scale, and B.E./B. Tech. or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

For Sciences:

• Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institution with 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent CGPA in the point scale, and an undergraduate degree in the relevant discipline with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

For Computer Applications:

• MCA from a recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent CGPA in the point scale, and a Graduation degree with Science and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

For Architecture and Planning:

• Master’s degree from a recognized institution or university in various specializations of Architecture or Planning or allied subject with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) or equivalent grade. OR
• Bachelor’s degree of a recognized institution or university in Architecture or Planning with 75% marks (70% for reserved categories) or equivalent grade, along with professional/research experience for a minimum period of five years after obtaining the bachelor’s degree.

For Department of Management:

• Master’s degree in Management/Engineering/ Technology/Commerce/ Economics and other behavioral Sciences and allied relevant disciplines, or equivalent, with a minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
• PG Diploma courses considered equivalent to a Master’s degree recognized by AICTE/UGC only shall also be considered in determining eligibility. In such cases, candidates would be required to produce the necessary certificate(s) from the Competent Authority.
• Relevant branches include: Accounts & Finance, Agricultural Economic & Business Management, Banking & Insurance, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Business Data Analytics, Business Economics, Business Law, Business Management, Business Policy & Strategic Management, Commerce, Data Analytics, Data Science, Decision Science, E Commerce, Economics, Finance & Control, Finance, Financial Management, Financial Markets, Global Business Operation, Human Resource Management, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, International Business, Knowledge Engineering, Knowledge Science, Management Science, Marketing Management, Operations Research, Organizational Development, Personnel Management & Industrial Relation, Psychology, Sales & Marketing Management, Statistics, Strategic Management, Family Business & Entrepreneurship Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Venture Development.

Note:

• Applicants belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, OBC (Non Creamy Layer), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Differently-abled (PD) Categories will be given 5% relaxation in minimum entry qualification marks.

Eligibility for Part-Time Research Scholar (Sponsored) / Full-Time Research Scholar (Sponsored)

An applicant is eligible for Part-Time Research Scholar (Sponsored) / Full-Time Research Scholar (Sponsored), provided she fulfills the following conditions:

• Applicant is working in organizations which have MOU with IGDTUW.
• Applicant is working on a Full-Time basis (regular/adhoc/contract) in a National Level R&D Lab/ a reputed organization/ recognized educational institution/ University/ PSU/ Corporate/ Industry registered under Companies Act. The Applicant possesses at least two years of relevant work experience.
• The applicant must submit an NOC from her employer, at the time of interview/provisional registration.

Minimum Qualifications for Admission to Part-time and Sponsored (full-time) Ph.D. Programme in Management:

The following eligibility conditions apply for Part-time and sponsored full-time programmes:

• Only employees of Public Sector Undertakings or Government Departments or Research and Development Organizations or Private Industries (approved by University) are eligible for admission to these programmes.
• The minimum full-time experience required after obtaining the qualifying degree and as on the date of registration, is 2 Years.
• Sponsored (full-time) candidates seeking admission to a Ph.D. programme on the basis of study leave, must submit a “Sponsorship Certificate” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority in the organization clearly stating the following:
  • For the period of his/her studies in the programme, the candidate would be treated as on duty with usual salary and allowances.
  • That he/she will be fully relieved and granted study leave for a minimum period of 3 years (2 years for M.Tech. and equivalent degree holders).

Selection Procedure

• Admission to the Direct Ph.D. Program will be done on the basis of a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) Examination, or an interview, or both.
• Candidates with a valid GATE score or other qualified equivalent National Exam will be exempted from the RAT.
• The RAT Examination shall be cleared with qualifying marks of 50%. A relaxation of 5% marks (from 50% to 45%) shall be allowed for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently abled categories in the RAT Exam.
• The interview for the selection of candidates shall be conducted Department-wise by Selection Committees. Weightage shall be given to the following:
  • Prior background in research with skill certification courses, assistantships done, industry experience, technical skills, and research projects undertaken in the relevant branch done at Bachelor’s/Master’s Program (as applicable).
  • Exceptional interest in research with prior publications (SCI/SCIE/SSCI/Scopus indexed), conference presentations, or other academic/administrative work.
  • Candidates having memberships of national/international Technical Societies (IEEE, CSI, ASME, ACM etc.).
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation from Faculty.
