Gurukula Kangri PhD Admission 2025-26

Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University) Haridwar, Uttarakhand invites application for PhD admission 2025-26.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have completed 1-year/ 2- semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/ 8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/ 4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or Equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently Abled/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
• Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
• Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme.

Application Process

• For session 2025-2026, an applicant seeking admission in Full Time/Part-Time Ph.D. Programme p run by Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar can apply for admission by filling Application Form either in Online mode or Offline mode.
• Click on “Admissions” or click on “Admissions 2025-26” on the Home Page of website www.gkv.ac.in of Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar.
• The candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. Such candidates will have to submit compulsorily their complete final result of qualifying examination up to 30th November, 2025 failing which their candidature shall stand cancelled.

Admission Procedure

• Those candidates who have passed UGC/ CSIR (NET JRF)/ NET/ GATE/ CEED and similar level national test may be considered for Direct Admission to Ph.D. programme without appearing in Research Entrance Test (RET).
• The eligibility of the candidates will be valid for current academic session only. The candidates will be called for interview to discuss their research interest/ area before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) chaired by Head of the concerned department.

Phase-I: For RET exempted category only

• Last date of submitting the filled in application (For RET exempted category): 31 August, 2025
• Last date of DRC Meeting: 15 September, 2025
• Last date of admission to PhD course work: 30 September, 2025
• Date of commencement of PhD course work classes: 1 October, 2025
• Duration of examinations of PhD course work: Last week of Jan. 2026
• Declaration of result of PhD course work examination: Last week of Feb. 2026
• Last date of submission of Application form and PhD Synopsis: 31 March, 2026
• Last date of RDC meeting: 15 April, 2026
