Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University Prayagraj – RPNLU PhD Admission 2025

Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj invites online applications in the prescribed format for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programme in Law (Full-Time) for year 2025.

Eligibility criteria

• Eligibility will be based on and in conformity with University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for the Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022 and No. F. 4-1 (UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024 (NET)/140648 dated 28th March 2024.
• Candidates who have completed: a Master’s degree in Law or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree in Law by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting, or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of Uttar Pradesh and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Government of Uttar Pradesh from time to time.

Admission Process

• Candidates, who have qualified NET/JRF or qualified for the Admission to Ph.D. based on the UGC NET examination are eligible for the Ph.D. Admission as per the UGC Guidelines.
• The Ph.D. Course work at RPNLU, Prayagraj is full-time program.
• Those who are employed anywhere will submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective employer clearly mentioning that the Applicant/candidate will be granted/allowed leave for Ph.D. Course Work. Without such certificate, the application shall be rejected, and the application fee shall not be refunded. Further if any candidate is found that the forged certificate has been submitted at any period before or after admission, his/her admission shall be cancelled at any time and penalised as well.
