Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh invites online application for PhD admission for the academic session 2024-25.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate seeking admission to the Doctor of Philosophy programme must, at the time of application, hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification in the relevant or allied subject with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)/EWS/Differently Abled and other categories as per UGC regulations).

Selection Process

In academic session 2024-25, Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa, will adopt the National Eligibility Test (NET) scores for admission to Ph.D. programmes and also conduct a university-level entrance test. The Ph.D. admission of student appearing in DET will be based on the combined merit of DET marks and the marks obtained in the Interview subject to the availability of seat.

Candidates who have qualified in any of the three categories of UGC-NET from June 2024 / UGC CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and Similar National level tests, are exempted to appear in DEТ 2024-25. However, such candidates must mandatorily submit an application through the online process. Additionally, such candidates shall be required to appear for an interview.

APSU Rewa Doctoral Entrance Test (DET)

• The Entrance Test shall consist of a single multiple-choice objective-type paper comprising 100 questions, each carrying one mark.
• The paper shall include 50 questions on Research Methodology and 50 questions on the relevant postgraduate subject.
• The duration of the examination shall be two hours.
• To qualify for the entrance test, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped).
• Candidates who qualify in the Entrance Test shall be required to appear for an interview.

Entrance Test Syllabus

For NET Qualified

• The JRF (Category-1) qualified students under category one are admitted into the Ph.D. Programme based on an interview only.
• For students who qualify in NET Categories 2 and 3, 70% weightage will be given for NET score, 30% weightage for the interview performance for admission to Ph.D. program.
• The Ph.D. admission will be based on the combined merit of NET marks and the marks obtained in the Interview.
• The marks obtained in the NET by the candidates in category 2 and 3 will be valid for a period of one year for admission to Ph.D. Programs.
• The relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to (SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/EWS/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time.

• After successful online submission, a printed copy of the application form, along with attested supporting documents, must be submitted or sent by post to the office of the Directorate research cell.
