AIIMS Bilaspur PhD Admission 2026 (July)

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bilaspur invites applications for admission in Ph.D. Program July 2026 Session.

Elgibility Criteria

The educational qualification varies with the projects approved for Ph.D. The prospective guides would set the qualifications depending on the project they would allot to the student. A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications awarded either by this Institute or any other University/ Institute recognized by a regulatory authority such as University Grants Commission (UGC) of India, Pharmacy Council of India, All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Nursing Council of India and Medical Council of India (MCI) or similar regulatory authorities if the college or the university is outside India:

• Medical qualifications: MBBS/ BDS with minimum 60% aggregate marks or Doctor of Medicine (D.M.) or Magister of Chirurgical (M.Ch.) or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Master of Surgery (M.S.), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) or Diplomat of the National Board (DNB) of Examinations or equivalent degree. Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized or considered equivalent by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.
• Non-Medical: For non-medical candidates, eligibility shall be a Master’s Degree (two/ three-year course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent – Master’s degree in education or Education Technology (M.Ed.), Master of Veterinary Science (M. V. Sc.), M.Sc. (Nursing), M.Sc. (Laboratory Technology), M.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) or a degree of Master of Sciences/ME/M. Tech. in subjects allied to medical sciences such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Human Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Life Sciences including Botany, Zoology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Organic Chemistry, Anthropology, Human Genomics Virology, Psychology, Sociology, Social work, Public Health/Community Health or MPH. Candidate should have at least 60% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified. Candidates possessing a Master’s Degree through distance learning courses shall not be eligible.

Important Notes for candidates:

• Candidates can apply for PhD in one department.
• For FA category, At the time of application, the candidates must produce documents of conditional acceptance by the faculty of the Institute through respective faculty’s and for OF category passing certificates result of last two years.
• Eligibility will only be for seats in the department and project that they have applied for.
• Seats will be allocated in order of their merit in the exam.
• Successful candidates will be subjected to eligibility criteria of respective Project before admission.
• Candidates are required to make their own arrangements for stay at their own expenses during the period of their PhD Course.
• They are also required to identify source of funding support for their research work, as Institute is not bound to support candidates for their stay/salary/ research funding support.
• Candidates who are allotted a seat but do not join or resign after joining, will NOT be eligible for any additional rounds of seat allocation.

Application Process

• For applying for admission to PhD Course each candidate is required to fill online form & submit hard copy of signed application form provided on the website to Dean (Exam), AIIMS BILASPUR(HP), Ground Floor, Admin Block through registered post/ speed post. The envelope should be super scribed as “APPLICATION FORM FOR PHD ADMISSION JULY 2026 as mentioned in the important dates at a glance of prospectus.”
• No candidate should register more than one application.

• Date of uploading prospectus for filling up of application form opens on: 7 August, 2026 (Friday)
• Last date for applying online and receipt of hard copy of application form through speed post/in person at Dean (Examination) only at AIIMS Bilaspur (Online): 17 August, 2026 (Monday) (*mandatory)
• Last date for applying online and receipt of hard copy of application form through speed post/in person at Dean (Examination) only at AIIMS Bilaspur (Hard Copy): 18 July, 2026 (Tuesday) (*mandatory)
• Status of application & rejected application with reason for rejection. Applicants are required to check the status on AIIMS Bilaspur website: 19 August, 2026 (Wednesday)
• Last date for submission of required documents for regularization of rejected application: 20 August, 2026 (Thursday)
• Issue of admit cards for Ph.D. entrance examination to eligible candidates via e-mail: 22 August, 2026 (Saturday)
• Written Test at AIIMS Bilaspur- Stage I & II: 25 August, 2026 (Tuesday) (F/N)
• Expected date of publication of merit list of stage I & II: 25 August, 2026 (Tuesday) (By 02:00 PM)
• Stage III Assessment: 25 August, 2026 (Tuesday) (A/N)
