Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University PhD Admission 2025-26

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University invites applications from eligible candidates for admission into the Ph.D. programme for the academic year 2025-26.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates possessing Master’s Degree in the subject concerned or in any allied subject from a recognized University, with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST/BC-Non Creamy Layer candidates) are eligible to seek admission into the Ph.D. Programme.

Admission Procedure

• Admission into Ph.D. Programme shall be through an Entrance Test (Computer Based Test [CBT]) mode followed by an interview.
• The applicants who are qualified in UGC-JRF/ UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/ CEED test and were awarded a fellowship are exempted from appearing for the Entrance Test. However, they have to submit the online application form and register themselves for the admission by paying the required fee and appear for the interview.

Application Process

• Registration for the Ph.D. entrance test is through online mode only.
• Candidates are advised to visit the university portal at www.braouonline.in to fill out the prescribed application form and register by paying fee.
• After payment of the fee, the candidate must complete and submit the application form online.
• Please note: Merely making the fee payment without submitting the online application form does not complete the registration process.
• The procedure for payment of the registration fee is available on the website. The fee once paid will not be refunded.The entrance test will be conducted only at Hyderabad.

• Commencement of registration, payment of fee and submission of online application: 7 September, 2026
• Last date for registration, payment of fee and submission of online application: 6 October, 2026
• Last date for registration, payment of fee and submission of online application with a late fee of rs. 500: 15 October, 2026

• Date & time of Ph.D. entrance test (from 02:00 P.M. to 05:00 P.M.): 26 October, 2026
