Eligibility Criteria
- A 1-year / 2-semester Master’s degree following a 4-year / 8-semester Bachelor’s degree OR A 2-year / 4-semester Master’s degree following a 3-year / 6-semester Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent qualification with minimum of 55% marks.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks, i.e.,55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/EWS/Differently-abled and other category of candidate as per the decision of the UP Govt.
Admission Process
Admission to the Ph.D. program at Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, comprises a two-stage process: an entrance test (70% weightage) consisting of two objective papers on research methodology and the subject, followed by an interview (30% weightage).
Admission Process & Weightage
- Entrance Test Structure: Two objective-type question papers, with Paper I on Research Methodology and Paper II on the specific subject.
- Weightage Distribution: 70% weightage for the entrance test and 30% for the interview/viva-voce.
Passing Marks & Criteria
- General Category: Minimum 50% aggregate marks required in both entrance papers combined.
- Reserved Categories (OBC / SC / ST / EWS / PwD): Minimum 45% aggregate marks required.
Exemption From Entrance Test
The following categories of candidates are exempted from appearing in the Ph.D. Common Entrance Test (CET):
- National/State Level Exam Qualifiers: Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR-NET (including JRF) / SLET / GATE / ICAR NET (including JRF) / GPAT.
- Regular Teachers (University/Affiliated Colleges): Regular teachers working in the University, its constituent colleges, or affiliated colleges who have successfully completed their probation period.(
- Self-Financed Scheme (SFS) Teachers: Teachers working under self-financed schemes within the university campus who have completed at least 2 years of teaching service and have published at least 1 research paper.
- International Students:International students (including NRIs) will be governed under the general rules of the Government of India.
Important Note: Candidates eligible for entrance test exemptions must still submit an online application within the stipulated deadline for their Ph.D. application to be considered.
Application Process
- The Ph.D. Application form has to be filled online on the University website for admission to the Ph.D. Programme.
- The Online Application form will be filled by candidates required to appear for the Entrance Test as well as candidates exempted from the Entrance Test for admission to the Ph.D. program.
- Before applying online, candidates are required to keep ready the following documents in JPEG format for uploading as per the prescribed size:
- Soft copy of color photograph
- Soft copy of the signature
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- 10th & 12th level Mark sheet
- UG Mark sheet and Degree Certificate
- PG Mark sheet and Degree Certificate
- Mark sheet of previous semester(s) for candidates appearing in the qualifying degree exam
- NET/GATE certificate etc.
- Send the hard copy to mentioned address in notification.
