Gurukula Kangri PhD Admission 2026-27 (Phase-I)

Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University) Haridwar, Uttarakhand invites application for PhD admission 2026-27 (Phase-I).

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have completed 1-year/ 2- semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/ 8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/ 4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or Equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently Abled/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
• Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
• Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme.

• An applicant seeking admission in Full Time/Part-Time Ph.D. Programme run by Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University), Haridwar can apply for admission by filling Application Form either in Online mode or Offline mode.

Admission Procedure

• Candidates qualified in UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET, GATE, CEED or other equivalent national examinations shall be considered as per the latest UGC Regulations and University Ordinances.
• Eligible candidates will be invited for an interview/presentation before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC).

Phase-I: For RET exempted category only

• Last Date of submitting the filled in application: 31 August, 2026
• Last date of DRC Meeting: 20 September, 2026
• Last date of admission to Ph.D. course work: 30 September, 2026
• Date of commencement of Ph.D. course work classes: 1 October, 2026
• Duration of Examinations of Ph.D. course work (Tentative): 2nd week of February, 2027
• Declaration of result of Ph.D. course work examination: 2nd week of March, 2027
• Last date of submission Ph.D. Synopsis: 31 March, 2027
