Osmania University PhD Admission 2026

Osmania University invites application for Ph.D. Admissions under Category-I in various faculties of Osmania University. The candidates, who have qualified & awarded JRF in national level test such as UGC/CSIR/ ICMR/ICAR/ DBT/INSPIRE/ NFSC & NFST etc., are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible the candidates must have qualified and been awarded junior research fellowship (JRF) in a national level test such as UGC/CSIR/ ICMR/ICAR/ DBT/INSPIRE /NFSC & NFST etc.,

Academic Qualifications

• Candidate should have completed a 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme, or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme, or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever a grading system is followed. Alternatively, candidates with equivalent qualifications from foreign educational institutions accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency approved, recognized, or authorized by an authority established or incorporated under the law of their home country or any other statutory authority in that country for assessing, accrediting, or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions are eligible.
• Candidates seeking admission after a 4 years / 8 semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever a grading system is followed.
• Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever a grading system is followed, or equivalent qualifications from foreign educational institutions accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency approved, recognized, or authorized by an authority established or incorporated under the law of their home country or any other statutory authority in that country for assessing, accrediting, or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or an equivalent grade may be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/ Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
