IIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2026 (July)

IIT Hyderabad invites online applications for admission to PhD programs for July 2026 in various disciplines and streams offered by different departments of the institute.

Regular PhD Admissions

• For eligibility criteria read information brochure of respective department.
• Fellowship: As per the guidelines prescribed by MoE / other funding agencies from time to time.

Application Process

Apply online at: https://www.iith.ac.in/phdadmissions/

The candidate has to apply separately, if wants to apply in more than one Department.

Steps to Apply Online

• Step 1 – Registration
  • Registration Page will ask you to provide a valid login id, email address and password. Please note that we will use this email address for further communication with you.
• Step 2 – Login in to the System
  • Please Provide the login id and password which you had chosen at the time of Registration with the system. (When ever you login first time our system will ask you for secret key which you received through the email at the time of registration).
• Step 3 – Click on Apply
  • Click on the link ‘Click here to apply’ and Choose the department by clicking on arrow of corresponding department
• Step 4 – Application
  • Fill or update your application details by clicking on appropriate arrows. Please note that once you fill or update the information in the appropriate form you need to click on either save/submit button so that your data will be stored in our system.
• Step 5 – Print Application
  • After filling all the details in the application, you will be able to pre-view the application and you can go back and edit the application at any tab, if required.
• Step 6 – Pay Application Fee
  • Pay Application fee
• Step 7 – Submit your application
  • Submit your application by clicking on ‘Submit Application’ button. Unless You submit the application by pressing the above button your application will not be considered. Merely saving (clicking the save button) the application will not be enough.

Note

• Irrespective of the applied funding, the department has the right to offer admission in other funding, as per the eligibility of candidate.
• Each department determines the cutoff marks, and relaxation on the respective cutoff will be given as per the Government of India norms.

Selection Process

• Respective Departments will follow their own shortlisting and selection process.
• The Department may offer admission under any other funding irrespective of applied funding as per candidate’s eligibility.
