Eligibility

  • Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever a grading system is followed).
  • A relaxation of 5% of marks (from 55% to 50%) or an equivalent relaxation of grade will be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/EBC/ OBC/Differently-abled categories.
  • Online applications are invited for admission in Ph.D Programme (Course Work) from the candidates who have been declared qualified in Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT) conducted by Patna University or have qualified NET/JRF.

Selection Process

The Department concerned will conduct the interview within a week after the last date of submission of online applications and the merit list should be prepared on the basis of the Ordinance and Regulations governing award of Ph.D. Degree by the Universities of Bihar and as per the Reservation policy of the State Government.

10 marks will be given to the teachers and non-teaching employees (having more than three years experience) as given to JRF.

The final merit list will be approved by the Department Council on the basis of availability of seats and reservation policy of the State Government.

At least two to three candidates of each category will be kept on the waiting list for admission in case the selected candidates do not turn up for admission within the due date.

Application Process

  • Online applications are invited for admission in Ph.D Programme.
  • The print copy of the duly filled out form complete in all respects along with the self-attested copies of the academic records and other relevant documents will be accepted in the Department of the subject concerned by hand or by the speed post.
