Note: Research topics are not limited to the above-mentioned thrust areas and can be decided based on the mutual interest of the guide and the Ph.D. scholar.

PhD Admission Categories

The students admitted to the Ph.D. program shall be classified under any one of the following categories:

Regular
- Full-time candidates working exclusively on their Ph.D. degree. Institute fellowship available to eligible candidates as per norms. Eligible for hostel accommodation.
Direct
- Full-time candidates admitted directly to the Ph.D. programme. Institute fellowship available to eligible candidates. Eligible for hostel accommodation.
External/Working Professional
- Part-time candidates who are regular employees of academic institutes, industries, or R&D laboratories. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer required. Fellowship not provided by institute. Hostel accommodation subject to availability.

Eligibility

Regular Ph.D.

General/OBC (Creamy Layer):
- B.Tech/BE/ BS/MSc/MCA: 6 CGPA or above and
- MTech/ME/ MS in CSE/IT/ ECE/EE/Relevant areas: 6.0 CGPA or above on a 10-point scale or 60% of marks
SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Category
- BTech/BE/ BS/MSc/MCA: 5.5 CGPA or above and
- MTech/ME/ MS in CSE/IT/ ECE/EE/Relevant areas: 5.5 CGPA or above

Students qualified NET/NBH/GATE or any other equivalent National examination with a CGPA of 6 and above are eligible to apply.

Admission Procedure

The admission process typically consists of one or multiple rounds of Screening Tests and Interviews depending on the number of shortlisted candidates.
The list of candidates who are selected after the final interview will be announced on the institute website approximately within two weeks of the interview date.
Selected candidates will also be intimidated by email.

Application Procedure

Only online applications are accepted. Applicants must use the common application form for both Computer Science & Engineering and Mathematics & Computing departments.
