Eligibility Criteria

  • Masters’ degree (M.Tech. or M.E. or MS) in Metallurgy/ Materials Science and Engineering/ Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Production Engineering/ Nanotechnology/ Engineering Science/ Engineering Physics/Ceramics Engineering/ Electronics/ Chemical Engineering/Energy Science and Engineering/ Related Specializations (with CGPA/ CPI/ Percentage marks as elaborated below) AND should be fellowship awardee from UGC/CSIR-JRF qualification, DST Inspire or Equivalent Fellowship OR
  • B.E./ B.Tech. degree in Metallurgy/ Materials Science and Engineering/ Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Production Engineering/ Nanotechnology/ Engineering Science/ Engineering Physics/Ceramics Engineering/ Electronics/ Chemical Engineering/Energy Science and Engineering/ Related Specializations (with CGPA/ CPI/ Percentage marks as elaborated below) AND should be fellowship awardee from UGC/CSIR-JRF qualification, DST Inspire or Equivalent Fellowship. OR
  • Masters’ degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry/ Physics/ Materials Science/ Electronics/ Nanoscience and Technology/Forensic Science/Related Specializations (with CGPA/ CPI/ Percentage marks as elaborated below) AND should be fellowship awardee from UGC/CSIR-JRF, DST Inspire or Equivalent Fellowship.

The minimum requirement of CGPA/ CPI/ Percentage marks in the qualifying exam is elaborated below:

  • For UR/EWS/OBC(NCL) category: 60% marks or equivalent
  • For SC/ST/PwD category: 55% marks or equivalent

Application Procedure

  • Applicants have to apply ONLINE through official website of IIT Indore.
  • After submitting the application online the eligible candidates have to bring the signed hard-copy of the application along with payment receipt, recent photograph, self- attested copy of the relevant certificates, additional forms at the time of Written Test / Interview.

Candidates must arrange recommendation letters from at least two referees. Referees shall e-mail the reference letters directly to dpgcmems@iiti.ac.in one day before the interview date.

  • Cut-off date of online application: 24 August, 2025
  • Tentative date written test and interview (in-person): 10-11 September, 2025

Application Fee

  • Indian Applicants: 100/- Indian Rupees (non-refundable) to be paid through online mode.
  • International Applicants: US $30 (non-refundable) through SWIFT payment transfer mode.
