Bharathidasan University Qualifying Entrance Examination for PhD 2025 (Aug)

Candidates planning to pursue Ph.D. Programme (both Full-time / Part-time) in the University Departments, Affiliated Colleges and other Approved Research Centres of Bharathidasan University are instructed to apply ONLINE for the Qualifying Entrance Examination.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have passed postgraduate degree under regular pattern in recognized University.
• 50% marks for SC/ST/ Person with Disability
• 55% marks for all Other Candidates.
• Candidates who are pursuing final year PG Course may also apply for this Qualifying Entrance Examination. The Pass Certificate (validity-5 years) will be issued only on production of attested copy of Cumulative Mark Statement ensuring minimum eligible percentage of marks in PG Degree.

All the candidates having PG Degree (residing in India or Abroad) looking for Ph.D. Programme are required to apply for this Entrance Examination except NET, SET qualified candidates within 5 years

Selection Process

Students will be admitted to Ph.D Programme based on their performance in written test and Interview.

• A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the entrance examinations for the candidates belonging to BC/MBC/ DNC/SC/ ST/Differently-abled category.
• Students who secure 50% marks in the entrance test will be called for interview at a later date.
• The selection will be based on the entrance test with a weightage of 70% and 30% for the performance in the interview.
