Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur Wanted PROJECT RESEARCH SCIENTIST – I (NON-MEDICAL) (on contract basis under ICMR sponsored project “Development of an indigenous AI-assisted computer aided system for automated detection and grading of colorectal cancer severity using H and E-stained histopathological imaging” at Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Essential Qualification

Candidate should hold first class M.Tech/M.E/MS degree OR First class B.Tech/B.E. degree OR first class integrated M.Tech/M.E in the engineering discipline of Computer Science/Electronics/ Electrical/Biomedical/AI and relevant areas.

Remuneration per month

Rs.56,000/- + 20% HRA (Rs.11,200/-) = Rs.67,200/- (With 5% annual increment in 3rd year)

Remark

• Preference will be given to the candidate having equivalent Qualified GATE score, suitable publications and experience in the relevant area.
• The selected candidate will have the option to register for PhD program as per Institute Policy.

Eligibility

1. First class in M.Tech./M.E./MS in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical/Biomedical/AI and its relevant areas
2. OR First class in B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical/Biomedical/AI and its relevant areas
3. OR First class in Integrated M.Tech./M.E./MS in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical/Biomedical/AI and its relevant areas

Candidates, whose M.E./M.Tech/MS/B.Tech. results are awaited or at completion, can also apply subject to conditions. They will have to submit the result of M.E./M.Tech/MS/B.Tech. at the time of joining.

Desirable

The candidate should have expertise in image processing/computer vision, proficiency in machine learning/deep learning models/medical image analysis.

• The duration of the post will be initially for 06 months, which is extendable for another six months up to maximum of 03 years or completion of the project, whichever is earlier, solely based on satisfactory performance of the candidate.
• As per Institute Policy, the candidate may be considered for Ph.D. program as per the applicable rules of VNIT Nagpur. Candidates interested to extend their project position to the Ph.D. program as per VNIT rules will be preferred.
